The lake is San Remo’s main attraction, with locals taking full advantage of it at all hours of the day. The natural environment is truly idyllic with San Remo bordered on 3 sides by natural beauty. Locals can choose from any number of water based activities, in whichever direction they look - from the Wallarah Creek on San Remo’s south-western edge to the bushland and the Hammond canal to the east and of course Budgewoi Lake, as well as the other connecting lakes in the surrounding areas.
The south facing aspects of San Remo can be enjoyed to their full advantage by everyone with lovely waterfront parklands along the lake’s edge. It’s very easy to get out and enjoy the great outdoors when it is literally at your doorstep. You can bump into the neighbours while walking the dog, take in the scenery as you ride your bike beside the lake, or walk to the local tavern for a casual Friday night dinner.
The only thing you’ll need to worry about is the noise of the local wildlife as birds, frogs, cicadas and crickets come to life at various times of the day, reminding you that they live there too!
